Module Details

Action Research is a step towards quality education and reflective teaching. This Course shall equip the participants with basic theoretical and practical knowledge for conducting work-based action research with objectivity and independence. The Course shall be a medium to stimulate reflective teaching practice, collaborative skills and need-based interventions for improving teaching-learning process.

Module 1: Evaluate Principles of Action Research- theoretical background, stages of Action Research,  Difference between fundamental research and Action Research
Module 2: Writing Action Research Proposal - Apply the principles of Action research to real life school based research
Module 3: Steps towards conducting Work-based Action Research - Construct and evaluate action research based on focused group discussion and short interventions

Key Takeaway

The session will focus on the participants being able to identify problem areas in a school system, define actionable improvement solutions and plan to carry out suitable improvements using the Plan, Do, Act, Check cycle. This entire process will help participants to improve upon their ability to carry out research, collect meaningful data and suggest improvements.

Dr. Anuradha Sridhar

Dr. Anuradha Sridhar is the Head of Curriculum Development & Training at Aditya Birla Education Academy. With an experience of two decades in the International Education space, she has worked with some of Mumbai's leading schools. She holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry and a degree in Education. She also is certified by the Harvard Graduate School of Education for courses on Cognitive development in students. Anuradha is an accredited assessor by NABET- QCI for school audits. She has conducted several teacher training workshops and has trained over 2000 teachers across the country.

Kalpana Chavan
Assistant Professor, St. Xavier’s Institute of Education, Mumbai
M.Ed, M.A.(Philosophy, Sociology) with NET

Ms. Kalpana is currently pursuing Doctoral Research from Dept of Education, University of Mumbai. She has completed her M.Ed., M.A.(Philosophy, Sociology) with NET cleared in all three Masters.
Ms. Kalpana has various research papers published and presented at state and national level. She has received research funding from University of Mumbai and MGNCRE and also works as a content developer, content writer and member of different Core Syllabus Committees. Ms. Kalpana is a Visiting Faculty and Guest Lecturer at University of Mumbai, SNDT University, Colleges of Education and Colleges of Higher Education.
